PACER contact information is set forth below. The Electronic Public Access Fee Schedule can be found here. The Fee Schedule contains information for free access and exemptions from the fee charges. NOTE: If you accrue $30 or less of charges in a quarter, the fees are waived for those three months. Further information regarding PACER fee exemptions is set forth below.
You may also obtain basic case information by calling the Court at (617) 748-5300 during business hours (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) or by accessing the Multi-Court Voice Case Information System (MCVCIS).
PACER Exemption Information
Pursuant to the Electronic Public Access Fee Schedule, the Court may exempt indigent persons, bankruptcy case trustees, individual researchers associated with educational institutions, state courts and sec. 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations from PACER fee charges. Please note, an exemption granted to an individual academic researcher is not inclusive of research assistants.
To apply for an exemption, the party must first obtain a login and password from the PACER service center. Thereafter, the party must mail submit an exemption request in writing and include:
2. An estimated period that the exemption would be in effect;
3. The PACER account number to which the requested exemption would apply;
4. An explanation why the exemption is necessary in order to avoid unreasonable burdens and to promote public access to information; and
5. If applicable, that the research project is intended for scholarly research, is limited in scope, and is not intended for redistribution on the internet or for commercial purposes.
