Returned Payments

Any payments returned or denied for insufficient funds to the court are subject to a service charge (28 U.S.C. 1930), over and above the amount of the original amount. If an attorney's payment is returned for lack of funds, in addition to the service charge, all future payments by the attorney in any matter must be made by certified check, money order or cash, unless it can be demonstrated that a bank error was involved.
