Service of Process

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) for the District of Massachusetts does not serve private civil process. The service does serve court orders on behalf of the government of the United States as well as criminal process, admiralty, seizures, and process for those proceeding in forma pauperis. Parties may seek court approval of special process servers or consider registering their judgments in state court, See Form B2650 for instructions, and providing service under state law.
