United States Bankruptcy Court to Honor Volunteers

Wednesday, September 9, 2020

On Monday, October 5, 2020 at 4:30 p.m., the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts will hold its Seventh Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony to acknowledge and thank those individual attorneys and law students who have demonstrated a commitment to pro bono legal work from September 1, 2019, through September 1, 2020. We will highlight clients who have benefited from pro bono representation and recognize departing members of the Pro Bono Legal Services Advisory Committee. In addition, you will have the opportunity to network with colleagues and speak with the Massachusetts Bankruptcy Judges in breakout rooms during the ”social” portions of the program.

The event will be held virtually, and an invitation will be sent to all ECF users and law students who self-certify. To be acknowledged, attorneys must certify that they have met the specific criteria established by the Court’s Pro Bono Legal Services Advisory Committee. Law students who have met the criteria may submit a certification, along with the acknowledgement of the attorney supervisor. Participation is entirely voluntary.

Those attorneys and law students who submit certifications to probono@mab.uscourts.gov. by September 30, 2020, will receive a certificate of acknowledgement and appreciation for their commitment to pro bono legal work, will be listed on the Pro Bono Honor Roll on the Bankruptcy Court’s website, and will be acknowledged during the Seventh Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony.
