During the interim period before a new judge takes the bench in Springfield, pending and future cases that would ordinarily be assigned to the Springfield judge will be assigned to one of our other judges.

In order to distinguish the Springfield cases from among all other cases, we have created a Springfield flag and color coded any case that is pending in Springfield or that is filed in Springfield. Those cases will appear in blue on PACER. Also, that portion of the Worcester cases, pending and to be filed, that would ordinarily go to the Springfield judge will have the same flag and will appear in blue. The flag and color coding will enable the court to transfer a full, active caseload seamlessly to the new judge when he or she takes the bench.
