In response to the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) outbreak, both the District Court and the Bankruptcy Court have adopted certain measures to protect public health and safety. Today, the District Court entered General Order 20-1 which addresses limiting access to court facilities within the District for certain persons deemed to be at risk. That order can be found here. Notices will be posted at each courthouse. The judges of the Bankruptcy Court are reviewing their dockets and scheduling telephonic hearings where appropriate to reduce the risk to attorneys, parties, and court personnel. Accordingly, please pay close attention to hearing notices to determine whether a presently scheduled hearing has been converted to a telephonic hearing and/or whether a future hearing will be telephonic.
