Wednesday, November 26, 2014

A number of changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and to several Official Forms are scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2014. The rules changes address the following issues:

  • When petitions involving the same debtors are filed in different courts;
  • Time limits for serving a summons and complaint;
  • General pleadings and judgments and costs;
  • Bankruptcy appeals;
  • New trials; and
  • Relief from a judgment or order.

The amended rules and forms are available for review on the United States Court's website at Pending Rules Amendments and Pending Changes in Bankruptcy Forms.
